What is Love?

March 28th,2013

If we look at the world today we see that things seem to be out of order. It seems that the society that we live in tries to distract us from the big picture of why we are here on this earth. Our true purpose in the pursuit of happiness does not lie in materialistic things.  It seems to me that the greatest vibration in the universe is being hidden from people. Its spoken about but it isn’t utilized as often as it should be. If you don’t know what the greatest most powerful vibration we can ever receive or deliver is LOVE. In 1 Corinthians 13:13 it states “ And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love.” Love as the world knows it is not real love. That’s why it seems that so many have given up on it. To the point where they frown up the thought of loving someone or someone giving them love. If you don't understand something how can you fully operate in it? I don’t blame those children, teens, or adults who are the furthest from the love that is accessible to us all.
Take a second and think about to yourself, What exactly is love? First I'm going to tell you what it is not. The best way to describe love as most of the world sees it was shown to me in the book Power vs Force: The hidden determinants of human behavior, by David R. Hawkins M.D., Ph.D stating

Love As depicted in the mass media is not what this level is about. What the world generally refers to as love is an intense emotional condition, combining physical attraction possessiveness, control, addiction, eroticism, and novelty. Its usually fragile and fluctuating , waxing and waning with varying conditions. When frustrated, this emotion often reveals an underlying anger and dependency that it had masked. That love can turn to hate is a common perception, but here, an additcive sentimentality is likely whats being spoken about, rather than love; there probably never was actual love in such a relationship, for Hate stems from Pride , not love.”

I know that after reading that most of know exactly what that means. Because more often than not that is what we have seen expressed in many our relationships. But in those people defense that’s the same love they were taught growing up.Once we realize that from the time we have entered this earth we have been absorbing any and everything in our environment. From the language we speak, to the things we do, to the things we believe in. Now I mention in my post yesterday I read a book called   Happiness Genes: Unlock the Positive Potential Hidden in Your DNA ,by James D. Baird PhD with Laurie Nadel PhD, foreword by DR. Bruce Lipton.  The book starts out by explaining how for the first six years of a child’s life they unconsciously become apart of their environment. Here Lipton explains
The reason is the the prenatal and neonatal brain is predominantly operating in delta and theta EEG frequencies through the first six years of our lives. This low level of brain activity is referred to as a hypnogogic state. While in this hypnotic trance, a child does not have to be actively coached by its parents, for children obtain their behavioral programs simply by observing their parents, siblings, peers, and teachers.”
When I read this I was blown away. I immediately realized that if people don’t realize this they will be indirectly harming their children. I say all that to say that a lot of people do what they have been taught and repeat those cycles. Often enough I hear people saying “ I went through it and I turned out fine” .  I often wonder to myself “ Did you really?” Maybe or maybe not, but it doesn’t mean that you cant educate and provide your children with the opportunity to obtain the knowledge and skills needed to overcome obstacles.  Once you understand where certain ways of thinking and behavior come from you can begin the process of change.  Now we know what love ISN’T , I will tell you what love is. 1 Corinthians 13:4 -7 states
“  Love is patient , love us kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.  It does not dishonor others, it is not self seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.  Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with truth.  It always protects ,always hopes, always preserves.”
I can honestly say that because of this scripture it changed me in the way I dealt with relationships. It ultimately earned me my wife. Now I wasn’t a bad lover I just missed some crucial points that caused me to indirectly ruin the love in my past relationships. But God brought me an angel and I quickly transformed. I use to be one of those guys who kept a lock on his phone. I would entertain other women in text when I was upset or felt lack of affection. I decided I was tired of not loving the right way. I wanted to have a wife that would have my back through it all that I could trust. Im not gonna lie it was easy at first, but isn’t that’s why it’s the road less traveled? I can honestly say that love conquers all, because I experienced it. I want to share another passage from the book Power vs. Force it helped me understand 1 Corinthians 13 better. The author states
The 500 level is characterized by the development of a Love that is unconditional, unchanging , and permanent. It doesn’t fluctuate--- its source isn’t dependent on external factors. Love is a state of being . It is a forgiving, nurturing, and supportive way of relating to the world. Love isn’t intellectual and doesn’t process from the mind; Love emanates from the heart. It has the capacity to lift others and accomplish great feats because of its purity of motive.”
After becoming aware of what REAL LOVE is , it became evident to me that I don’t want to live second of my life without it. As a follower of Jesus Christ I am permitted to Love Him, our Creator, and to love my neighbor.  I believe that is God’s will for my life and yours. The universal law of giving expresses that what you give comes back to you. By God loving us , it is required that we love Him and everything he created. As Jesus tells us in Matthew 22:37, 39: “Love the Lord God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself”. I can honestly write all day about love and how it has saved me,but since I wrote so much yesterday I wont take up anymore of your time. Thank you for taking the time out to read what was on my heart today. Have a blessed day and do your very best to give love throughout your day.

 P.S.
I almost forgot to leave you with this.  Something I thought was very beneficial in the book called Change Your Posture Change Your Life by Richard Brennan. It discusses how in today's society everything is all about speed and doing more than one thing at a time. This causes alot of our stress and anxiety. We rush through our lives and forget to enjoy our gift , the present. I hope this helps you like it has helped me. God bless
